Internal Services for Protection and Prevention (ΕΣΥΠΠ) – ISPS Training

28/06/2026

A 35-hour HRDA-approved training programme that prepares employees to take on the role of Internal Services for Protection and Prevention (ISPS / ΕΣΥΠΠ) within their organisation, in full compliance with Cyprus occupational safety and health legislation.

Two ways to take this course

We deliver this programme in whichever format suits you best:

  • Multi-company programme — join a scheduled session alongside participants from other organisations. This format is approved by the Human Resource Development Authority of Cyprus (HRDA), and eligible businesses may qualify for HRDA funding.
  • In-house, for your company — we run the programme exclusively for your own team, scheduled around your operations and tailored to your workplace and sector.

Why this training is required

Under Cyprus law, companies must train the individuals they appoint as ISPS. This obligation arises from regulations Κ.Δ.Π 158/2021, 237/2021, 238/2021, 239/2021 and 240/2021. Appointed individuals must understand these regulations so they can help develop and implement the workplace Occupational Safety and Health Management System. To meet this requirement, they must complete a 35-hour programme as specified by Regulation Κ.Δ.Π 238/2021.

Who should attend

The programme is designed for anyone taking on a role within the Internal Services for Protection and Prevention, including:

  • Employers or their representatives
  • Safety and Health Officers and their deputies
  • Safety and Health Representatives
  • Members of the Safety and Health Committee
  • Fire Protection, Firefighting and Evacuation Officers
  • First Aid Officers
  • The Chairperson of the Safety Committee
  • Any other persons appointed by the employer as members of the ISPS

What you will be able to do

On completion, participants will be able to:

  • Help design and implement the company’s Occupational Safety and Health Management System in line with the law
  • Recognise legislative requirements and relate them to company operations
  • Apply the requirements of both new and existing safety and health regulations
  • Carry out and update risk assessments
  • Develop and implement an Emergency Response Plan
  • Maintain the Special Safety and Health File
  • Identify and address safety and health non-conformities
  • Analyse data used to measure the performance of the management system

Course structure

The programme runs for 35 hours and is delivered through live distance learning on the Zoom platform, with active participation, discussion and the sharing of professional experience. Progress is assessed through case-study exercises and knowledge tests. The programme is delivered in Greek.
